Pages of Time
Turning back
The pages of time
How the years
Have slipped away
It was like yesterday
Or maybe a whole life away
When the world
Was in its prime
Was it really that long ago
The inside not changed
But the shell unrecognizable
Giving away the years gone by
Our joy of meeting up dwindles
To a sheepish awkward pause
An almost apologetic look
For what’s become of us
