Ovation

raindrops fill petals
summer lily bows her head
takes gentle applause

Thanks, Grace I do like traditional Haikus that stay true to form- it makes one work that little harder to do so much with so little. Viv x

A quaint piece that makes me think renaissance. With few words you managed to paint a beautiful piece that creates a vivid picture. Nice.

Thanks, Hailey, I tend to find Haiku are like china teacups- they do the same job as a mug but you have to handle them really carefully. Viv

Have you ever noticed that a rain shower hitting the leaves or surfaces sometimes does sound like applause? You must have judging by your words. The sights and sounds you describe are that of a very perceptive human.

Yes, Duke, the sound of a gentle summer rain is very similiar to that polite applause you get at a classical concert. Very soothing. Thanks for dropping by. Regards, Viv

Thanks, Julia, I like to think that the flowers in my garden are humbly accepting their gift of water rather than cowering from it. Viv x

Thanks, Kim, for stopping by. I treat a Haiku as literary maths- first line as a statement, second line a result, third line sum of the two parts. It tends to work for me. Viv x
