Out Of The Darkness
I sit and feel the darkness in my soul,
Trapped within a deep, dark hole.
I fall down on my knees,
Pleading for God to rescue me.
Lifting up my head to see,
I cry, “Is anyone there to comfort me?”
My soul is wretched with despair,
Feeling as though no one cares.
Out of the darkness, a small light grows,
An angel appears, all aglow.
She whispers softly as she nears,
“God has always been here.”
The angel’s words begin to stir my soul,
Though the gloom has taken its toll.
Then suddenly, out of the dark,
The angel’s light ignites a spark.
My soul begins to shine within,
Knowing God has forgiven me for my sins.
So when life’s burdens take their toll,
God’s light and power will make me whole.
One need only fall upon their knees,
For forgiveness and love are the keys.
