Through my window, I watch children play. Over harvested fields, they move and run. Unmindful of the bite of stubble under their feet. Eager to spend their holidays in great fun. Some run around, kicking the ball, Passing it to the goal posts quick and smart While some in groups skip, hop and jump, A few like asteroids, through cosmic void, dart. By my widow I stand and watch their lively sport I can hear their shouts of joy and hilarity. Like tiger cubs, sometimes they fight, Alerting the neighborhood to their noisy gaiety. These scenes weave pictures of delight, Reminding me of the days of amusements wild. When such shadowy phantoms fill my brain, I yearn to be reborn once more a child.

Ah such beautiful imagery and storytelling in your poem. I absolutely love the way this flows in such eloquence and heartfelt words, sometimes i too watch children play around, their innocence, how refreshing to watch and read about. This is soul warming and the flow of your descriptive diction is seamless. Definitely a must read for the prompt. I loved this

You did so well with this. Nobody was outside my window. Just scenery.

Dearest Valsa, your heart truly is ever young as you play with memories and words! Even though we can't return to our childhood, your elegant rhymes take us on wings of reminiscence as we look out our windows! Your words brought back so many happy childhood hours of gazing at rain, first snows, moonlight, summer mornings and double rainbows. Your lines are moments of happiness! Best wishes for the contest, dear friend! I thank God for your gift!

The joy seen in these children, is the beauty of God's desire , why must we grow up : ). But we have been given access to be reborn, no matter the age to once again find true peace, joy and love

Ahhh!! The fun children can have and enjoy with just what is around them. Good to revisit this part of our lives from time to time even to jump in leaves, lay down on the grass and watch the cloud formations in the sky even if only through a child at play. Thanks for sharing this one with us and for dropping by my page. Sara
