Our Triggered Response

Listen to poem:
"Our Triggered Response" (by Michelle Lynn LeBlanc 12/18/2023 ) When we go through a rough patch, we got to remember it's just a day Kind of like an illusion, in which we're all here to play It's not always easy, when many days so often feel uphill And top it off with all our baggage inside, that we really don't want to spill So do we justify Our Triggered Response, as we focus on wrongs of others? Or do we acknowledge and face our own crap too, as its being uncovered? Our issues will come to the surface as they're triggered - yup! We can each blame it on our misfortunes or we can learn to own them up Yet we've got to remember we're human, and not be too hard on ourselves Even though sometimes it may feel, like we're going through a lot of hell But we can't play the victim either and justify the things inside The things we know we must work on and should never continue to hide For how we grow and how we learn, is in what we choose to face Even though sometimes we're embarrassed, and feel ashamed to show our face What Are All These Triggers and why do they take us so long to resolve? Its often because there's a mystery inside, that's been long waiting to be solved Working on our issues is hard, it's not as easy as one, two, three We're all going through this human journey, it doesn't stop because we have to pee ;) Find a way to smile, laugh and see the sun, even though the clouds are in the way Don't forget this journey will get easier, we just have to take it day by day!
