I loved our time together late at night Love's sanctuary in each others arms Unwinding and unraveling what's tight Those years I spent succumbing to your charms Initially, those hills we climbed were rough Our boundaries were drawn with compromise That look you gave me when you'd had enough Approval of my worth in ardent sighs But now to mem'ries I've become a slave Each day I live, I pray to be my last To sleep beside you even in my grave Reclaiming love that saved me in the past The love you gave still warms my broken heart It's lonely picking up the scattered parts. an original poem by Daniel Turner

I am slowly getting there. I will heal. Next step is trusting. That will be hard. But when the time comes I will know. How do you heal?

I understand your hurt, Darlene. The harshness of reality is we all make mistakes and would like to be forgiven, which means we must also forgive:) Thank you for such wonderful visits.

Thank you WW. This poem has nothing to do with me other than the fact that I wrote it. I initially wrote it for Laura's sad contest but by the time it was finished her contest was over. I appreciate your support and yes I do have a mug shot! Lol

Daniel, This is a passionate and powerful sonnet for sure. With really authentic emotions you draw the reader immediately into each verse. The closing couplet is fabulous. Most Excellent Work!! Thanks for your recent read of "The Old Dark House." This one's a FAV!! Cheers and Best, Gary

I would be remiss to not publicly share my adoration of this sonnet. It's stunning and inspiring how beautifully it's composed. I'll give ya $10 to trade out skill-sets with me for the afternoon

The matter and manner of the poem are very dignified. The poem features the traditional theme and form of a sonnet. Wonderful it is, Daniel.

Danny, Your poetry has the power to reach into a woman's heart, open it and leave it beating faster, and feeling warmer after swooning over your words. Can you tell I loved this? You write poems women and men enjoy reading Daniel. Keep giving us the joy. Beautiful! Blessings, Connie ; )

Thank you Mrs Connie. You are so sweet! I originally wrote this for Laura's "Sad" contest but by the time I finished it was too late. I posted it anyway. It's just as well, probably saved myself another NA:) I'm glad you liked it. That's good enough for me:)

Thanks Tim. I originally wrote this for Laura's contest but by the time I had finished, the contest was full and gone. It has nothing to do with me, it's simply a poem! Thanks for stopping by.
