Our One Stone

Our One Stone

What is one stone good for in this life
Who knows what it becomes too many
To some one stone can be a loving memory
Of happy times on the beach with your loving wife

Others see it as a thing to throw
Into that beautiful calm sea
To have that perfect flat one for skimming
So they can score the most number of bounces

Some will view one stone as a tool to meditation
To get to that place we need to relax
And unwind, to be at peace with ourselves
That we might be calm and rejuvenate

We might see it as the one we keep in our pocket
That helps us through our stressful day
The one we grip in times of intense moments
And we consider it to be our lucky stone

One stone we never throw away
That will hide in the back of the draw
Till we find it in there again
To bring back those memories to throw

Mary I have many stones at home, some as you say bring back memories, some I hold for meditation, but my favourite is a heart shaped stone given to me from my children. An enjoyable read on the humble stone!

I like this one Mary. I love rocks and stones and have many. Well written. I like how you expressed the scenarios :)
