Our Names In the Sand -Part 2
I was young when we met
Thought a lifetime we would get
I enjoyed going out
On vacations all around
I loved to laugh
You said I was a gas
I made you smile
If only for a while
Didn’t stay happy very long
Something was dreadfully wrong
Wish I saw it in the beginning
You never looked at us as winning
Had your own agenda
Eventually would upend us
You became a grump
Always saying humph
Pushing me away
Anger on your face
You never dreamed of forever
Only to be free as the weather
Three years after I hoped to write our names in the sand
I found out that grains don’t stand
