Our Mothers

Your eyes see tomorrow with hope And your hearts made of gold Your minds are sharper than a sword You are smarter than many we know That is why you help children grow You go where no one dares to go Always there for the young and old The backbone of many homes Your boldness, words cannot describe In the battlefield, you do not retract When trials come shooting like rockets Throughout the rough storms In the midst of tough times As stones are thrown at you You neither quit nor shiver You persevere until you overcome You tirelessly protect others You have so much power! Yet, you never oppress the oppressed You are filled with kindness You touch lives, indeed You truly care for those in need! You conduct yourselves with dignity Dignity that most wish to emulate You are always aware that in a relay You pass the baton with no delay Only if we could run our race with grace Just like you do Whatsoever you put your hands-on Has a way of blossoming We acknowledge your value Hence, we salute you, our Mothers!
