Our Magic Grapevine
In our youth and right NOW
my twin sister and I would
slip into our very own
Emerald Doorway to a
Magical Queendom!
We often invited cousins and friends to bathe in
the strong sun rays of our enchanted realm.
The promise of FUN shown in our eyes
as we approached a certain Magical Spot
on our path thru the woods.
Looking over the edge of the ravine
there hung a Magic Grapevine waiting for our grasps,
trusting little hands to clasp the vine for a swing
out over 30, 40, 50 feet vistas, laughing
as the wild grape leaves waved to us
and the stream below raced along it's merry way!
The vine was placed just right, had the right length
tho, we never saw another soul there to chop its
bottom end or to check it's strength.
The vine reached out in a way just for our
clinging, like a benign Magic being,
loving to amuse us , to hear our laughter ring!
Our faith, it's nourishment as we flowed
above the scene!
I'm much older now and I recognize Magic
when I see it, I can still feel the wonder...
