Our Legacy Collaboration With Line Gauthier

You me we all strive in this life To leave something of ourselves behind To bequeath our mark on history And be remembered throughout time Be it for legacy or vain conceit In our youth we had dreams Dreams so much larger than life To stretch our wings and soar We would change the world Make it a better place for us all At times we’ve gotten sidetracked Round about in some foolish ways At times dizzy and confused Unconcerned by the trickle of sand Falling mercilessly in the hourglass If only we could see our destiny As clear as curbside signs Showing us the point we'll reach Be it high or be it deep All in proper time making up for lost time Now loud and clear that ringing beckons That haunting call that urgent craving A yearning before that final curtain falls Happens to us one and all Be it for legacy or vain conceit

Tamara Beryl Latham left me a comment for us both that I am happy to convey: "Your words express the inner feelings of many people. I guess we all wonder if we will leave an image of our lives on this world, after our deaths. Great poem with an enormous amount of insight on your part. :)"
