Our Greatest Downfall
I sit in the eye of the needle,
Watching the world pass me by.
I am hiding from good and evil,
Please don’t ask me why.
It lurks all around us,
Waiting to strike.
It is said to be ruthless,
Like the freshwater pike.
Swift and agile
As it moves along
Coy as a damsel,
But yet so strong.
Where oh where,
Do I go from here?
What is my fate,
It’s not clear?
Some say they have risen,
To continue their fight.
The earth, their prison,
It doesn’t seem right.
But such is life,
As we know it down here,
It cuts like a knife,
Used as a spear.
Someday the truth,
Be known to all,
So uncouth,
Our greatest downfall.
So remove yourself,
From that eye of the needle,
Protect thyself,
But be not vengeful.
