For Contest, “The Extra Mile”
Sponsor, Charles Messina

We watch them try, to no avail It seems somehow they always fail Perhaps to help, we should prevail. Our extra mile's worthwhile A phone call may their spirits lift Or, visit with a dinner gift To help unhappiness to shift Suggestions may compile To help weed out the good from bad Those things that make them very sad Embracing those for which they're glad Our extra mile ... their smile!
