we play our life role
exuding a scent
granting love consent"

Our Effervescence

In the darkest of shadows
where deaths distress throes
where haboob cold winds blow
sandstorms one only knows
and where the heart’s a swindler,
a flame needs its kindler
The force of darkness ends
as sparking awareness mends
As the sun responds with heat
at dawn's rising we greet
Gratify light and energy
ratify our source of synergy
Life’s thriving in Amazonia
since days of Babylonia
Goddess Flora’s allure and beauty
fauna’s animated antiquity
Ravishing roots uncovered
medicinal miracles discovered
Flowers blooming bright
a bride’s bouquet, a rite
A rose scents us with love
purity of the white dove,
liaise and symbolize
God’s striking creatures are the prize
Planet Earth’s born native
our souls be collective
Baboons and macaques eat its figs
scarlet macaw’s perch on its twigs
An Amazon rainforest aerate
soulful breaths cognate
A tropical canopy perennially
and shall perish eternally,
sans the sun’s rays that carom
across a ginkgo harem,
or man’s deforestation at bay
Deforestation decays
Deforestation is our death
stifling the Amazon’s breath
Sun-loving deciduous
spiny forever green cytisus
While briny sticks and stones
in conjunction are onymous tones
We crossed its path and tripped
our life source stripped
Eremite, anchorite
inheritor of dirt a birthright
Of warm zephyrs in August
and enlightenment we trust
As final cadence alludes
a sequence of preludes
Velvet vignettes ponderous
our effervescence wondrous
Evolved body and spirit
sans any limit
Sans light, the soul shan’t rise
lest a spiritual demise
When all laden and encumber
burdened by the stark of slumber
As dark vs light torments
paroxysm laments
When in a verklempt presence
reach out towards God’s luminescence

"Deforestation is our death stifling the Amazon’s breath" So very true. Your concern about deforestation and man's callous treatment of nature and the created beings is something that needs to be voiced. You have a wonderful vocabulary and a unique way of dealing with a topic while I settle with hackneyed expressions and ordinary words. Yours is great penning, but I feel you deviated a little from the topic or else you would have been placed higher. Congratulations dear Ayana.

The poetry lines led me into the devastation, in all honesty. "Conjoined with the whole" the Amazon is a great example of our evanescence me thinks, if I can only explain it correctly I would. It is alive and breathes and without sunlight and other of Mother Earths elements it can not live just as we depend on Her and it too has evolved as well as spreads it's evanescence. I am most grateful for my placement, tis out of 35 entries, I am proud I made Unseeking Seekers list! Your poetry is nothing ordinary at all Valsa. Congratulations on your Trophy win! Thank you for your valuable review, we must talk more often xoxo ~ I Am Anaya

First time heard of Habbob by watching it on TV in Arizona. You have created a nice poem.

Because of northeast winds in summertime, August haboob is defined as a violent dust storm or sandstorm! TyVm!

I have so much to say that I don't know where to begin. FIRST & FORMOST, this is impressive work, you have some lines of lavish imagery that thrilled me as a poet, my muse salivated. Exquisite penning. Next, I know there's nothing wrong with not using punctuation, but I had trouble telling where a thought ends & the next starts, small case and Cap letters didn't clarify things because I couldn't find a pattern for your use of them. Last, check Soup Mail. I LOVE watching your poetess bloom

Ah, good to see you, I followed as Seeker did in his line inquiry, no punctuation in rhyme. I kept a rhythm, think it's enough. Lol. Thank you my poetess friend, anything helps. Stay well and enjoy the day! xhugs

Ah, yes haboob winds, chosen because it's summer. Fun fact: cleaning the air we breathe. It does this by sucking up the global emissions of carbon dioxide! Ty

I have a dictionary and book of synonyms handy, Charlie. Lol. I can't believe how much a poet uses the same words over and again in every poem of hers. My mission is to get new words out there. Seekers contest dive in the spirituality. Fun fact: The Amazon breathes. TyVm August blessings

Hey I like it. Never heard of a haboob until the Phoenix thingy. Talk about eerie. And don't even get me started on deforestation. Such shortsighted fools we be
