Our Dance

Our Dance We were young and she was beautiful And no one gave it much chance Different in every sense of the word All that we had was our dance The music would come the music would go Deafening - then lost on deaf ears The quiet of life the roar of the strife Ebbed and flowed through all of the years The dance floor grew dusty, lonely & dark Lost midst the lows and the highs Then slowly a glow like a struggling star Rose from the light in her eyes The music faint and still distant Awaken as if from a trance Embers stir memories blur And she still remembers our dance
