Our Broken World
Years ago when I was a young boy
The world was a nice place there was plenty of joy
I'm older now and wiser too
And I've seen the evil that men can do.
Pick up the paper or watch the TV
No more good news or is it just me ?
I look around and what do I find
A world full of terror that's affecting mankind.
Men have twisted religion and suited it for their needs
They think Gods on their side whilst they commit wicked deeds
You can not oppose them for they will kill you
You have to go with their ways its all you can do.
There are oppressed communities living in fear
They call out for help but the world doesn't hear
More often than not help arrives too late
By then some have met with a terrible fate.
There is no prayer book that says to kill or to maim
They carry out evil in their 'Gods' name
They're brainwashed by others with a twisted mind
Their 'God' must be evil not the one who is kind.
But there is hope look around and you'll see
People doing good deeds selflessly
It helps restore your faith in humanity
And you think to yourself that's how it should be.
