Notes About The Poem

Ouch

Ouch
Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden In summertime were very jolly But what did they do when winter came And there weren’t any leaves but holly… Ouch! The dynamic pair needed something to wear To hide both of their naked bodies Was no fig leaves left on boughs of trees And both abhorred being in their noddies. They searched high and low and found some mistletoe It’s much kinder on skin than holly But soon found it was kisses all round Afore there was season to be jolly. ‘Twas only with creatures of all sorts, of course No other humans as yet existed That’d change when apples appeared again And temptation could not be resisted.

Pretty cute... We'll grant 'poetic license' to summoning winter to the Garden of Eden! Here's to clothing! :) Non-Nudist Camper

Thank you Gershon! I’m with you there and prefer to see folk clothed rather than nude… Belle

Ah, the eternal, great ouch of mankind. Love the holly reference AND the mistletoe. So creative with a dash of humor. So fresh with images. Very sensory. We have holly. Always a challenge to avoid the spikes! Congratulations for your win. Blessings for you Belle.

I think the Bible mixed it up and they used leaves for toilet paper, so you are quite right about the holly! Bring on Spring! Aloha! Rico

Tom, this year, buy early! Prices expected to skyrocket. Delivery this year., by list, is expected to be very late. Christmas might be verboten due to mandate- mania!

Hi Tom, the reason for the season gets lost amid the festive stress, Christmas is about families and friends getting together and celebrating the holy birth. Have had a very busy time lately, so much going on but going away for a few days relaxation. Hope all is well with you… Belle
