Othniel

Often, in a season of processing and preparation, we go unnoticed by human radar

Time, it seems, stands still while we wait in the shadows, longing for some kind of attention

Holiness and humility, like planted seeds, are taking root beneath the microscope

No one, it seems, knows our name, nor even makes eye contact with us

'I, me, mine, and my', are on the wheel of the potter, getting ready for the fire

Every moment is vital, and our times are in His hands

Loving God, above all else, is the key to true readiness

Let us pray:

Father, may I be even as Othniel, who allowed you to 'raise him up' to be a deliverer for your people. May I, like Othniel, not selfishly seek power, position, personal attention, fame or fortune. May I, if need be, submit to being ignored in obscurity until I, like Othniel, am made ready by you.

In the name of Christ, Amen. 04082017 cj;FB;PS

Note: The Biblical character, Othniel, who seems to have come out of nowhere, was Caleb's nephew who became the first ruler(Judge) of Israel after Joshua.
