Opposites attract

They say They say opposites attract, I suppose they were right to think that especially for us. For i was naive and you wanted to deceive I was as pure as the driven snow And you were dark like the concept of a Jane Doe. Opposites attract. You secretly wanted to attack, I just wanted you to love me back. You made me think lust was love all because you were under an act. Opposites attract. I wanted you on your worst days, you wanted me at your place for the worst ways. Opposites attract. I guess that’s why we aren’t attracted to each other anymore. Because when I look at my actions towards others i see yours and you made me like that.

Dear Jerni, Oh how you lay bare the real cost of “opposites attract”-not just the spark, but the shadows it can cast. I think you use contrast like a true poet, showing how innocence and deception, love and lust, can collide and leave echoes that linger. The ending hits hard: how we sometimes inherit the worst from those we once loved. It’s honest, raw, and deeply relatable-POTD. Congrats! Spring Blessings, My Dear Friend, Daniel

Opposites can build a healthy relationship. Understanding and communication is needed. However, in this case, it's very difficult; indeed. Some opposites need to stay away from each other. Congratulations Jerni, on Poem of the Day. My best to you. Hugs, Brandy

Congratulations on POTD Jerni, Indeed we can become by-products of another’s negative magnetism, which can draw out the worst in us, but the very fact you are now free from their attractive forces, means you’re also free to return to your original positive self, cheers David
