Opposites Attract
When we were single, what was it they said?
That 'opposites attract', something like that.
But being young in love - we charged ahead
and learned just what they meant right off the bat.
You liked your bacon crisp; I liked mine soft.
I drove like Dale Earnhardt; you'd take it slow.
When I served burnt toast, you just gently coughed
and ate that charcoal like a GI Joe.
In politics we sometimes disagree,
yet you still kindly hear my point of view.
We may not always bond religiously,
but no one I know shows more grace than you.
To me, you are the definition of
what people fondly speak of as True Love.
