Only Time Will Tell

Is it possible to heal all wounds through time
casting off our mortal coils?
Life goes on regardless of
past tyrannies which will surface
striking at any time,
inhibitors to happiness or just a normal life
Time is a stream flowing out into an ocean of eternity
Shall it not deliver us from bruises and trauma incurred?
Only time will tell
The tyranny of memory a serenity
torn down by the traumas,
surviving the tyranny of memory, just surviving!
A strategy is necessary to rid oneself of the terror inside,
to endure and challenge this relentless bully
seeking relief in alternative avenues when the traditional fails
Depending on how we experience time, Rodin's
The Thinker for instance, in a pensive repose
His body twisted and rife with tension
aligned with prism color,
brushed in a glowing bronze,
titanium silvers, canary golds
and indigo blues embedded
Appearing to be idling time away to some,
whilst others see what truly
matters—his philosophy
Time truly heals all wounds
as we shed our mortal coils
Will not all pain and despair be left behind?
Finally ridding us of ourselves
leaving our ghost force to fend for its
self from the law and order of everything
of all matter and non.

Dear anaya, i love a poem with questions that gives an evocative touch really! I love the fact that your poem starts with one and how the rest just flows in such eloquence in such a poignant and moving manner with creative diction and wordplay, so artistically delivered. So many lines stood out for me but “ The tyranny of memory a serenity torn down by the traumas, surviving the tyranny of memory, just surviving!“ hits the most! So good! Ah! I wish you did enter this to the contest, but anyhow i love it and appreciate you supporting my contest dear anaya. Sending you light always,

Yes, my thinker contemplates on time. In summary, The Thinker stands as a powerful symbol of human introspection, intellectual curiosity, and the eternal quest for understanding. Its timeless appeal continues to resonate. The Thinker is a bronze sculpture by Auguste Rodin, situated atop a stone pedestal. The work depicts a nude male figure of heroic size sitting on a rock. He is seen leaning over, his right elbow placed Artist Auguste Rodin Year 1904 Rodin originally called this pondering figure The Poet. The French government purchased the sculpture and installed it outside the Panthéon in 1906 as a gift to the city of Paris. It was moved to the gardens of the Rodin Museum in 1922. The Thinker was made to sit over the lintel of Rodin’s monumental bronze doorway, The Gates of Hell, contemplating the fate of the damned. The sculpture is nude, as Rodin wanted a heroic figure in the tradition of Michelangelo, to represent intellect as well as poetry.

It’s probably best not to dwell too much on past tyrannies Anaya, the unspeakable lows this human race has descended into at times is pretty troubling, but remember we’re also judging them by today’s standards were human rights exist in most countries, although it’s by no means perfect! I think your thinker knows that time can heal and change us, but blood will be spilt along the way in order to get there, a very complex poem, with huge issues tackled by you with admirable prowess, I’m sure Ink will be impressed with the colourful imagery you embedded throughout. All the best for contest. Cheers David

Good point, well taken. You make me think of Timothy Leary! He experimented with American consciousness and what he stood for, so many to choose from, who is right, who is wrong? Judgement every day, we are a judge mental human race! Thank you, David for your help in understanding these complex issues & Cheers to you!

I hope so SP, it still seems questionable. To have wounds and scars as reminders and remainders is not always delt with easily. Thank you, for commenting, always a pleasure to see you! ~Anaya

“Shuffling off this mortal coil” is Shakespeare's most famous soliloquy and there is not yet any definitive interpretation. It felt my mood! Thank you, sweet Daniel, I had "Inner Turmoil" in mind as well. hugs~Anaya
