Only Thing

I break all the pieces
 watch them shatter
pieces big and small
to the ground they begin to scatter

Leave me if you find the need
because I don't find strength
in watching myself bleed
So if you must, leave me here
and I shall find my own way home.
without you, I have nothing to fear

This shouldn't be
our only way to escape
the deeds, big and small,
that tear our little world apart
Suffocating pretension
making us fearful of our reflection
pained by what we see in the mirror

Leave me, if you find the piece
the little empty hole that's keeping you
the shard of glass reflected on your face
the only thing keeping you attached to me
So leave me here
because without you
I find that I have nothing to fear

Breaking all the pieces
upon the floor, they can only scatter
A fragile mistake, became you and I
when I watch our perfection begin to shatter
