Only Pure Gold

Young lovers once were far from getting old and looking awry,
passions were wild and kisses sweeter than honey...
as everything else, age showed its signs of ugliness,
realizing that only pure gold was resistant to rust and kept its worthiness.

What I admire today won't withstand this breath-taking magnificence:
dazzling beauty I touch with a mellow feeling while I praise its existence,
wishing that it remained intact as only pure gold can by not being corroded by rust...
aren't my gifts those ornaments that make your body a temple of carnal lust?

A foolish man attracted to the glitter of that unique, shiny metal;
a mad man obsessed with sensual thoughts of deception
by using precious gold to lure a sweet soul into crafty seduction....
not wanting it to lose it to time, but remain beautiful and eternal.

The most elusive man alive whose dream can turn into the thinnest dust...
wishes had a stronger heart not being allured by vain promise and trust;
he does not understand that only pure gold would last as time itself,
but has his pride completely waned, or he awaits resurrection from death?
