I recall days of yesterday and St. Patrick greenish fun, drinking up glasses of green beer till I was undone. My Irish grandma sure loved that special shamrock day, because she baked for us a huge emerald food display. There were cookies, puddings, and a lime green cake, with tons of green decorations that she liked to make. I recall some odd looking drinks of a questionable green, on St. Patrick day, my grandma was the Shamrock queen. Now, I like to do a jig and am a fan of Irish dances, where we whirled and spun and the boys made advances. We would let them chase us through the green clover, give a silly kiss and then we would start all over. Of course, we all had to dress in green clothes, it was fun to see what silly thing some people chose. I wore a green tea shirt that said I'm Irish kiss me, but that's a lie because I'm really only half Irish- you see! So enjoyed your Green poem Dear Heart - very clever, so you and I are a whole because two parts of your ancestry and two parts of mine (English and Greek,) equal a perfect whole - just have my silly cap on! Poetry hugs, Jenny.

Your grandma and my mommy would have been dancing around making green eggs and ham, green pudding, green jelly, green crackers, and green everything else for St. Patty's Day! I can picture them doing it, and I laugh. You have made a darling little poem here, Constance. I too am a bit Irish, some Swedish, some English, and a teensy bit of everything else. Nice one!
