Only For You

I lie awake in our queen size bed, Dreams of you all through my head. How little I sleep so soundly, For I wonder if you dream of me? How often do I cross your mind, Are the thoughts playful and kind? Constantly I think of your absolute wonder. Constantly I’m reminded of my blunder. Looking to the future we could create, I’m left wondering am I too late? I take your soothes and hold them tight, As I drift off to sleep, alone again, tonight. I dream of situations in a future together, Things I’d like to do with you, forever. I know we’ve gone over the plans again and again, At this point your reassurance feels like a sin. But I’m giddy and empowered with awe, When I see your name followed by a call. I’m devoted to happiness and a clarity so true, But let’s be completely honest, I’m longing for you. Do you see me as often as I see you? Your brown eyes shining brightly, and mine so blue? I yearn to hear about your life and your day. I yearn to fight and defeat any worries at bay. I yearn to be the one who makes the pain go away. But it’s only for you, everything I do. These rhymes mean nothing, without your voice. I could write to the moon, but it’s solely your choice. It’s only for you, everything, sweetheart. Through and through, we still sing, even apart. It is all for you, my beloved queen.
