Only An Initial

A box a ribbon a card
A dozen white carnations
Attractive underlay for
Twelve sweetheart roses

Soft silky red petals
Delicate tiny buds
On the card not a word
Only an initial

She closed her eyes
Handwriting she recognized
Feelings unexpressed
Lingering embrace
