One's Own Company

Everyone needs to get in touch with one's own company And not become the sum of those who surround you Why be a cover or an obscene parody? When you can be original through and through Even the chattiest of social bugs will stop and hear the birds Everyone needs to get in touch with one's own company And learn the art of conversation through lack of words To always feel sad when alone is the biggest felony When it's impossible to be happy all by yourself What makes you think you'll be happy when you're with someone else? Everyone needs to get in touch with one's own company If your friends find it silly, you're in the wrong crowd obviously God didn't hit copy and paste when designing your face Your imperfections will forever be yours entirely He said "I have plans for you. You will not go to waste!" Everyone needs to get in touch with one's own company

I so understand this. Sometimes you just have to be alone to sort through your thoughts. I love to just go in a corner and think things through. I don't always have to be loud and talkative. You better understand yourself if you take the time and listen.

There is a key difference between solitude and loneliness. It's good to take a break now and then from all the crazy socializing... what's going with the inner you? Lol... now that sounded cheesy. Anyway, thanks for reading me again!

Yes Tim, we all need time alone to reassemble our thoughts, theorise, plot lol, but not too much of it. You did a great job with this form. Take care, Richard

I find myself not being able to function properly, if I'm on the verge of a great idea, and can't get to a computer or notepad to write it out. Glad you liked it!

there is much wisdom here, this can only be learned through spending quality time alone. When we are alone we have access to God's thoughts and we can feel his breath as we exhale with wonder.

Little to no distractions. I just find it silly how people act like being alone is the worst thing that can possibly happen... I don't feel like that, anyway. Thanks for reading!

People always assume I've had the worst day when I've been alone most of the day... but it doesn't really bother me all that much. Glad I could be of some help!
