One's Own Company

Everyone needs to get in touch with one's own company
And not become the sum of those who surround you
Why be a cover or an obscene parody?
When you can be original through and through

Even the chattiest of social bugs will stop and hear the birds
Everyone needs to get in touch with one's own company
And learn the art of conversation through lack of words
To always feel sad when alone is the biggest felony

When it's impossible to be happy all by yourself
What makes you think you'll be happy when you're with someone else?
Everyone needs to get in touch with one's own company
If your friends find it silly, you're in the wrong crowd obviously

God didn't hit copy and paste when designing your face
Your imperfections will forever be yours entirely
He said "I have plans for you. You will not go to waste!"
Everyone needs to get in touch with one's own company

I don't always have to be loud and talkative. You better understand yourself if you take the time and listen.
