One Way To Avoid Sin Stop Negative Thoughts

If it’s one thing Catholics know about its hope
 God’s love for us 
His infinite mercy gives us hope
Living in an imperfect world
However
Can overshadow hope with doubt
 Fear
 Depression
Anger
Jealousy 
All manner of negative thinking
Without hope though,
we can drift far from Eternal God and the path to Heaven
Try these ideas to resist negative thinking and hold onto hope

Stay alert: Be watchful for the first signs of negative thoughts
So you can crush them before they can take root.

Shake it loose: Do something to disrupt the negative image or
Thought
 Snap a rubber band on your wrist
picture a brick wall, say
“STOP” out loud

Replace it: Instead of dwelling on the negative thought
Replace it with a prayer, an image of yourself in a peaceful place
The face of Father Christ Jesus
Mother Mary
Your favorite saint

Move on: Resume normal activities as soon as possible.

Give thanks: Thank Eternal God that He always gives us another
chance to get things right

Cynthia Buhain-Baello March 19, 2016 at 8:53 PM A very interesting piece on how to "avoid sin" but none of these, I believe, will work. Religion does not lead us to God, Jesus Christ, in our hearts, does. He said "I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through Me." (John 14:6) Jesus is NOT the Father, He is the Son. God's Word tells us how to avoid sin, keeping His Word in our hearts. (Psalm 119:11) Jacqueline R. Mendoza March 20, 2016 at 2:06 PM I got that from what a Catholic priest said on the bulletin. It's true He's the Son however the Father is in Him and we call our priest Father representing Father Christ because it is a fact that Jesus or Father Christ started the Catholic or Roman Catholic Church. "No one comes to the Father except by me", This means that we should follow Jesus or Father Christ and by following Him is attending His Church and doing what He said. Sorry, I didn't see the Reply, I went to your poems but I finally saw it and thank u very much for your true comments.
