One Way Street

When love is but a one way street
One heart is bound to lose
Two must tango to that beat
 And two must be enthused

Sometimes the one that you adore
 May never know you do
You leave them clues for sure
But they simply just ignore you

Sometimes the one that adores you
Wonder why you never look their way
For that one way street you knew
 Is shared by others too

This has happened not only to me, but to many people I know. It's rare when you find a couple whose feelings are returned. The one-way street becomes a dead end sometimes and it take a lot of resolve to walk away from a bad relationship. Your poem is very poignant, Joseph. A fave for me.

Very true Joseph. Sometimes you think you have shown your feelings in a thousand different ways but they are so subtle that they are plain only to you. Great observation. God Bless, JB

Good poetic explanation of the hardships of looking for that just right person.

A nice write ... We do desire both way traffic of heartbeats ... Sometimes that doesn't happen ... And that is painful for all ...
