One Night
4-11-11
"I never travel without my diary, one should always have something sensational to read . .
. Oscar Wilde, 1891
One night, realizing I had no computer
I reached for you diary to say
I'm sorry I've been gone so long
Technology got in the way.
Now I'm back to fill in the blanks
Of my life since you last heard
Somewhat rocky, yet all uphill
and sometimes quite absurd.
It feels good to carry you again
Tucked in my bag so snug
I take you everywhere I go
Much easier, you need no plug.
Forgiveness hard with myself
But you are much less judging.
When I feel I can not walk
You lighten my load for more trudging.
Blank pages staring at me
Begging me to write
Tell me your about your day
and also about your night.
Your patient and loving
Never mad when I type
Just sitting there laughing
Computers are all just hype.
