loved your poem ! and janet frame said something so true. at work i used to grab anything available, cardboard boxes, backs of signs, tags, etc. but as i am older now i progressed to keeping index cards in both bathrooms, at my computer and in my car. i even carry a portable tape recorder at times. thanks for sharing (tfs)

how true what your mother said i once wrote a poem while eating out, had this idea just come to me, so i wrote the poem on a napkin, and many of poems were started on an old envelope, your mother was a wise person. this was a great poem, enjoyed it. thank you for commenting on Something Beautiful.

Beautiful imagery, Sara. I agree that the best poems are written on scraps of paper. If you wrote this one that way, you have given us proof of Janet Frame's contention! Love, Carolyn

Lovely, Sara. A friend gave me a really posh notebook for xmas, but I still haven't got into the habit of jotting things down as the ideas comes to me - and forget a lot! Yes, I can well believe that about many poems : )
