One Eye Or Both
One Eye or Both?
One Eye or Both?
One eye on the future’s mirages, one eye on past’s mirrored reflections,
the present (too) seems problematic. There’s nothing to matter but feeling?
One day I am here, then I’m missing, my trace like the contrail a tear leaves
on Love’s cheek that Time will dissolve. But, at least, I fare better than dew drops
(ethereal) posed as they wont? Let a bloom’s aspirations gain garnish.
Dew’s vaporware promise that comes, but dream leaves as it came. Salt’s more fruitful.
Did dinosaurs please God by keeping accounts straight or honoring forebears?
One eye on the pledges I’d honor, one eye on each moment’s distractions,
my light is diffracting (Who’s here if I’m there?) Lord, my nature is reeling!
I’m wave! I’m particular! Time’s of the essence! Don’t flatter my shirt sleeves!
Though soul seems essential (and hearts need direction), I find that clear hilltops
aid vision! But friendship, like gold (forged by stars in our past), does not tarnish
or crumble, shows Grace that is treasured through time, that both eyes find delightful
if Truth is not God! Let mute space draw the curtain on death, our worst nightmares.
