One Autumn Evening

With flip-flap wings
in rhythmic rowing,
two sunset-magpies
flew straight through
a sky of pumpkin soup,
as I drove home to you.

Image lady, I'm thinking that's your thing, a fav to construct with your pen. I have to say, your pen is most successful. I hope you find comments on older writes because I will be here, and maybe there.

Dear Jeanette, I love your stunning "pumpkin soup" sky metaphor, the perfect description of the magpies' flight, and how it grounds all that natural beauty in the tender, personal moment of coming home to someone loved. Very cinematic and heart-warming. Blessings, Jeanette, Daniel
