Once Upon a Time When Time Counted

Once upon a time.
When time counted !!!

Once upon a time, what lived in my Girls, mind, 
was all I needed to see the world by, and for it to be.
Now the father in me has become not, you see, 
but memories of their play, days to never again find, 
as from life, they shot me out,
leaving me to think, of days in parks, a scream, a shout,
higher, higher as I push them on their swings,
reminiscing of walks, through forests dark, in summer springs,
through the snow, in the pouring rain,
nights within childhood pain, 
laying and playing on many beaches, 
all within the ocean’s reaches. 
In youthful notions, motions from bouncing on beds,
rainbows of many colours filling their heads 
as we hitchhiked across Canada’s highways 
and through many of adventure’s byways 
that crossed many meandering brooks,
that now lay dormant in so many of my books. 
Rivers cold, shivers bold, quivers as the story is told 
of all that memory hold, in words that showed, 
in many thousands of pictures that will never be sold.

What a prolific writer you were, William. Most of these written so long ago. Great pictures, emotions. I hitchhiked across Canada too, from Vancouver. Like you, it was an experience so many years ago. Have you written anything recently?

Hello Allan : Thank you for your interest, understanding and compliments about my stuff. “ Seems to reflect the unconsciousness of many creative people. Where does it come from ? ”. How true and if I understand correctly ?, some of your inspiration - like Elvis Presley, - has come from a psychic connection with one who left and has moved on “ Tap Tap ” and maybe mine comes from my fourth cousin, E. Pauline Johnson ?, who knows ?, maybe it all come from parts of the cosmic consciousness ?or the soul of another time

I guess you can say that “ What a prolific writer you were, ” and still am, as this will indicate, and as for “ Have you written anything recently? ”, if you scroll down my site Allen, you will find, at the bottom of each rhyme, the date it was conceived and given birth to, there are a couple, during these past two months . “ I hitchhiked across Canada too, from Vancouver. Like you ”,. How interesting, my two young Daughters – seven and nine – and I did it during the summer of nineteen ninety two.
