Once Upon a Nuclear Bomb

I guess the idea is ludicrous,
bizarre, and truely mad
for me to want to build
my house atop a launching pad!

my luck, I'd be watching Merv Griffin
while below me lay more MIRV's
for some ridiculous reason
these idiot's would then declare it War!!!
I suppose you can well guess
what just then, I had in store

to reach above the highest clouds
and then climb and climb some more
above the needle nosed nose-cone
beneath me the rocket's roar

well, I suppose there's worse
ways to go
although what they might be,
I sure as hel_ don't know.
