Once the Giant of Africa
Once the giant of Africa,
Now a nation lost, without a map.
The people, once proud and free,
Now trapped, in chains, without the key.
The land, once green and lush,
Now barren, as if struck by a crutch.
The roads, once smooth and paved,
Now riddled with potholes, and depraved.
The cities, once bustling with life,
Now empty, like an abandoned wife.
The people, once hopeful and strong,
Now cowering, like a wounded throng.
Yet, in the midst of darkness and despair,
A light shines, like a beacon, in the air.
A small flame, of hope and faith,
Igniting the hearts, of the people, like a wraith.
For the nation, is not lost forever,
If the people, remember their endeavour.
If they rise up, in unity and might,
The nation's future, will be bright.
Though the journey, may be long and hard,
The future, awaits, like a shining star.
The people, must stand, and take a stand,
To reclaim their nation, and their promised land.
For the future, is theirs, to create,
With their own hands, their own fate.
They must fight, for what is right,
For justice, peace, and might.
They must reclaim, their voice, their land,
And build, a nation, firm and grand.
With hard work, and perseverance,
They will overcome, their dispossession.
With unity, and a common goal,
Their nation, will regain, its soul.
