Once love is found, how bright the sky, when love is lost, how deep the hole, will this year find us low or high? Once love is found, how bright the sky, a fate (no matter how we try) of which we have such scant control. Once love is found, how bright the sky, when love is lost, how deep the hole.

Love and love lost - I guess it's difficult to have the former without risking the latter. The more we love someone or something the bigger and deeper the loss if it happens. Great poem John. I like how you ask what we will find this year to highlight the lack of control we actually have. So much food for thought packed into the triolet. Cheers - Gary

A very astute comment, my friend. Love, and the potential to lose that love, are a two-edged sword. Thank you for highlighting what you appreciated, and for committing the time to read deeply and comment accordingly. Best wishes to you this week ~ John

From the heights to the depths of emotions John. This is a brilliant triolet. You have captured human heaven to haunting hell that love and lack there of can conceive. Your poetry always impresses John. Blessings xxoo

John, this is both so uplifting and so sorrowful, the line that stands out to me is having such scant control over something so meaningful - I do feel for those who have loved and lost and their struggle to find the light again, this is quite touching and humbling~

Like rain, we rejoice when it blesses the land, then endure the drought, all the while humbled that it is beyond our ability to control. Thank you Michelle for your ability to truly grasp whatever I write.

Love is a beautiful emotion, one that takes you beyond the clouds. Without this feeling of completeness, we do feel alone. Lost. Your words caress softly around me and my heart. This is tender and emotional, all at the same time. Many wonderful blessings to you, my sweet friend. Hugs, Brandy

Love is the sun that melts the wax and hardens clay. It is the butterfly that delights the eyes then flies away. At this time in my life I am blessed. Thank you, dear friend. Hugs ~ John

Delightful triolet, John, enjoyed! In this life dance of stark contrast, are we tranquil and blissful or fearful and aghast?

This is such a sad but beautiful poem. I hope your skies are shining brightly, and if there is any deep hole of sorrow, that our Lord fills it with deeper joy, love and blessings by the power of His Holy Spirit. I believe that for God to heal a broken heart, it is as much of a miracle as healing any other source of pain in the physical. May God bless you ~BJ

Betty Jo, thank you for your lovely comment and compassionate concern. I say 'amen' to all you have shared, and I thank our God daily that my skies shine brightly. This was written out of empathy for those who have love and lost. I hope your day is warmed by the blessings of the Lord ~ John
