Once Love Has Died

Once love has died it cannot be revived
Sweet sentiments are sadly laid to rest
From memories no pleasure is derived
The broken heart is vanquished in its quest

Unnurtured love will quickly fade away
Much like a wilted rose unquenched of thirst
Or flower of the sun cloistered of ray
Affections die when they have not been nursed

I tried to warn you that my heart was sore
My tears a testament of grievous plight
You did not hear my plea for something more
And now my love is veiled away from sight

To resurrect my love is no mean task
For miracle of life my heart does ask

How can we appreciate joy if we cannot compare it to sadness. Yes, it is a sad write but a hopeful one. Thanks for your visit. I appreciate it. :)

Yes, they surely do. My Christmas is amazing thus far. My Papa is staying at my place now....I'm thrilled. He is so sweet. I just adore him. Thanks for asking.......hope all is well with you too.

Love is a flower. Water its roots, or you'll stick with plastic roses the rest of your life. Fantastic.

Wow, Eileen, the ending is deep. It strikes me in every way. ( This poem made me realize, how much I miss reading your poetry.) Sorry, I haven't been reading much new poems these days. My vacation started one week before Thanksgiving. I even close my restaurant, that way I can enjoy my vacation. However, I do miss being at home, commenting from my computer in hard these days---heheh.. I'm doing most of my commenting from my phone and laptop at times. I am looking forward to reading more this coming year.. So you better watch out with me, when I go on a commenting spree. Like that other night.. LOL... I'm just happy, to be here that is all..
