On Writing Drivel

I absolutely hate it when I write drivel I’m thinking my brain is starting to shrivel, And nothing coming out of it appears civil Writer’s block is making my head swivel, Perhaps I’ll take a fetal position and snivel, Right now, I’m feeling incredibly superficial!

I liked it, too, Caren. One of my favorites I've written recently.

Thanks for the encouragement, Terry. Sometimes I have a day when writing is an absolute struggles; then, at other times, they come out of my head faster than I can get them on the screen! Who knew?

I can’t believe you ever write drivel, Milt. I, on the other hand, have dozens of odes with no start and no end, just ideas with nowhere to go. So I fully appreciate the sentiment in your poem. Happy Christmas to you. Terry

Sorry, Terry, but you have a misconception here. I write lines and lines sometimes that never see the light of day. I have written rhyming verses that didn't, sonnets that failed either in rhyme or rhythm, gotten half-way through a poem and can't come up with a decent ending. Oh, yes, you only see what gets through my personal censoring! Beginning and ending of poems are the most critical, just like take-off and landings of airplanes!
