Notes About The Poem

On This Thanksgiving Day

I'm thankful to God
        for my wonderful life
     Blessed and proud to be
           somebody's son,
             and husband,
              and brother,
               and uncle,
               and friend
        I'm beyond grateful
     For all that I have today
        God, family, friends...
             in that order.
     Now, please excuse me
   I've got more turkey to eat...
       and football to watch.
