On Thinking

If we come close, we see
A chance for you and me:
A chance to free us all
From sinking down a hole:
A hole so dark and deep
Where no one can unleap.
If we no more lend ears
To lies that feed our fears
Of things we've never done,
And people forever gone.
If we can only think,
We then can find the link.
That sets our minds alight
And makes us act aright.
