On the Shelf
On The Shelf
A book lies silent
With a cover lost in dust
No one cares to read
Inside; words will fade
As my thoughts have been denied
Lonely; on the shelf
Lazy eyes; drifting
As attention-spans recede
People craving more
Blindly walking fools
Like it’s oxygen, to breath
Never miss a thing
Shallow waters rise,
Yet, the depth is ever less
Here, I’d rather wait
Alone
