On the Eighth Day

“And a sword will pierce your own soul too.” Luke 2:35b NIV Mary, oh mother Mary, fairest in blessedhood. bountiful womb delivers cutting edge news — to ponder, to treasure, deep pangs to measure. the destiny of your firstborn son wrapped in mankind’s mess. the sinless one would save all who will come, but first the arrival of suffering and shame. Mary, oh mother Mary, the sound of Simeon’s proclaim must have taken your breath away. but hence you hold the savior near, kiss his soft sweet cheeks, meanwhile yours leak. 12/25/2019

Merry Christmas, Kim, to you and your family! Your poem kind of reminds me of that song..."Mary, Did You Know." I hope your day is filled with love and blessings. Hugs, Catie :)
