Notes About The Poem

[This poem is written with a nod of appreciation to Maurice Rigoler, who is a master at writing Light Verse. I was inspired me to write this little poem after reading his poem "To the Long-Winded."]

On Rhyming

If I may suggest
the best way to write
a poem that rhymes
is line up your rhymes
ahead of time --
And always make sure
the rhymes you choose
come from your head
and not your shoes!

Have you been peeking over my shoulder?

Nope, and I have no idea what the last lines mean, Caren. They just seemed trivial and fun.

If it comes from your head it may be your nose, if it comes from your shoes it’s probably toes, and if in between... perhaps pantyhose! So that’s that sorted. Fun notion, Milt. ;-) Terry

Fine advice Milton, I like the last 2 lines, the rhymes you choose come from your head and not your shoes! the rhymes you choose come from your head and not your shoes! In any case, my good friend, My work doesn't provoke a reaction from you anymore; I hope it isn't because of the quality of my poetry; however, I am still getting pleasure and offering feedback on your beautiful poems. Peace and blessings

LOL. Thanks, Tom. Although, I wouldn't know how a rhyme from the head differs from a rhyme from the feet! SLOL!
