You say words not to hurt me, yet I know
The time approaches when you’ll have to go
Assuaging doubts, you gave me tasty bites
Of banquet of your love spread through the nights
And so my fears allayed I linger near
Your kisses hush my lips and banish fear
I choose not to discern what’s in your eyes
For in their depths is truth that love belies
My touch alluring wins a night with you
A siren now unleased with pleasures new
And yet when spent and held in your embrace
Tis sorrow that I see etched on your face
My mind is certain that your love will cease
My heart floats on denial’s cloud of peace
