On and On it Goes

Limericks written in Limerku form where words are counted, not syllables.

To some contest hosts, it seems to be very inconsequential
Perhaps they see poetry by a living brain as nonessential
What a disservice to the human hand
When AI poetry should receive a reprimand
Users have no shame in winning. They're positively nonpenitential

So easily now they've learned how to cheat by utilizing
the way AI allows, by using the means of humanizing
No hesitation over which buttons to click
and what they post is a goldbrick
Lines of blah blah blah, unappetizing that needs closer analyzing

The sponsors I continue to write for have dwindled low
Never would I post something that was empty of emo
Poetry should come from heart and soul
And if anyone cares... truth be told
Those who take unearned wins, I label them a bozo

CayCay Godwin August 16, 2026 at 11:31 PM HEY, that's what I said but I opted for bluntness over rhyming (to bang on their heads hard enough to impact their souls.) I'm glad you wrote this in terms of further hammering on the banging. I'm trying very hard to stay my view but give it to God because it weighs much and scares me. He doesn't want us to hold fear. I will always ask Him what else I might do. It's bigger than us, Line, it's bigger than Soup, it's a nightmare while awake. It’s not suspicion. It’s been proven and yet they do it with an ‘in your face’ capitalization and innocent plea. Conscious… soul? Not those of a poet. Thanks for your thoughts, sweet friend. 🌺

Sorry to jump in but I did so before giving it thought. If caught they'll click off and away without ever having to 'face' us (that makes them brave) and still retain whatever status this has falsely added to their ego and in their personal circle of people. I guess they want their moment in the limelight, even though the brilliance doesn't belong to them. I've been writing lots of ku poetry in All Poetry and I thought... Why Not a Limerku/Limerickku? It was a fun challenge, and one the rebellious part of me took on.

They know we know...lol As a concerned contest host, you ARE doing something about it by not placing their poetry... although they are as persistent in entering your contests as you are at renouncing their entries. ✨

Ink Empress August 15, 2026 at 1:42 PM Perfect limerick to read ~ before I hit the sack linnersz. Its really sad that some individuals use AI. But ofcourse, I dont blame the judges because they probably are natural, talented, experienced poets who do not find the need to use AI to write, so they probably have no idea, this has become a huge issue also on many other platforms. I really appreciate real ~ authentic poets like you on soup. Your love for real poetry I feel that as I read this! Bla bla bla ~ I can go on! Hah!
