On a starless night, when the moon cannot find its mirror

On a starless night, when the moon cannot find its mirror, A wandering soul wonders why we are so alone, Not in the silence of a home, but in the constant noise of misunderstanding, When words collide in the air and fail to settle, Like snowflakes that melt before they touch the ground. Humanity, a sea of souls searching, losing, finding themselves, Yet each wave crashes against the shore and retreats within, Asking why, why we long for embraces that do not hold us, Why we seek in others a meaning we cannot articulate, And always, when we look into another's eyes, we see only our own shadow, Reflected in a void of silences and unfinished words. Perhaps the Earth was placed here to nourish only loneliness, That loneliness which grows between us like a forest of maples, Its leaves are the misunderstood words, and its branches, broken hopes, And while we seek comfort, all we find are echoes, Echoes of the desire to be understood, to be truly seen. But perhaps, deep within this forest, a light is hidden, A light that does not come from outside, but from within us, from the depth of our being, Where every step toward another is a step toward oneself, And perhaps, just perhaps, this is how we will find ourselves in the end.
