on a branch

outside my window sits a chickadee
he loves trees of oak & pine
has a family of a hundred & three
they love the snow & falling snowflakes sublime
& each morning some gather to sing a symphony for me

I am enjoying hearing birds again after a cold dismal winter. I love waking up to their songs, a hungry cardinal this morning, and hopefully a chickadee. Chick -a -dee-dee-dee, You're right a symphony. I love this sweet little poem and on a cold dismal day, it was sure nice to find.

I adore this poem, and the chickadees too. I’m really hoping they will nest in the teapot I put in my tree, they were checking it out last fall! They’re used to us now, munching my sunflower seeds within my reach. This a fave! xomo

Jan, thank you for the compliment, you don't have any in your country? We have tons, I adore them and they can survive in our bitter cold temps, hugs ~
