On a Bench

Sitting on a bench
she met him one day
in the park, he passed by
and stole her heart away

sitting on a bench,
when he told her he'd be gone for a year
the army needed soldiers
and she was left with her fear

sitting on a bench
in the summer, in the fall
the leaves fell away
and she waited through all

sitting on a bench
while the snow came and went
while the grass turned back green
and less letters were sent

sitting on a bench
one year later, anticipating
sitting on a bench
where she still is found waiting

so sad this one. But I really like how you approached the theme. Congrats on a well deserved win.
