The Rump Parliament he sought to expel.
Some saw him as a hero of liberty.
Others condemned him for gross brutality.

I just love 'RUMP Parliament.' The LONG becomes the RUMP becomes next BAREBONED and everyone remains stupid. This is quite good and I see you won something, so Yay You.

He came from a farming background I have mentioned my friend and ex secratary Mary..She is his direct descendant. .He did really good and really bad stuff, the bad was i think indirect by others under his command Zealots in charge at local levels in Ireland and elsewhere.' We all get things wrong eh? Its strange because one of my relations was murdered by a Gang of such zealots.' Resulting in an official sainthood ( and Cromwells descendant and i are friends.?) Wow.' Thats a strange twist anyway God bless.!

WoW! England like many countries has a bloody history but I really thought it had become more civilized than to cut the heads off bodies. Did they think he was a vampire? I don't understand. God Bless, JB

When Richard the 3rd's body was exumed..Btw its said he was illigitimate now.' Anyway They gave the corpse a real state burial as a decent thing to do..The then queen blanked the whole thing.? Though it was a royal recognised state burial..Oh they hold a grudge alright.' Damn un-christian like don'tya think.? For a Christian???

Here's the story. The monarchy was restored 2 years after his death. Then his body was exhumed and his head cut off and put on a pole where it remained for 25 years. Good grief. I could have gone the humor route and said : after two years dead/ his body dug up and off with his head! (When his head came off they put it in a curio museum or something) Gosh, wouldn't it have been a skull by then? So gross

I agree. But regarding this Cromwell guy, he doesn't sound like such a great person, but for some reason, when I think of famous British names, why is his one if the top 10 that comes to my mind?
